Gender on Registration Form

I realise that in this day and age, there are those who would rather not identify as either 'male' or 'female' and may possibly take offence at the registration form to join this forum requiring one of those choices as a answer in order to join Dragonhenge.

Please understand that I have no control over that requirement and, given the choice, I would happily add 'other' or 'decline to answer' but the registration form is controlled by ProBoards and I am unable to change the required fields. They give the reason for the gender requirement as being for "advertising purposes".

You are more than welcome to hide the gender field on your profile.

I hope that this does not put anyone off joining our community here.
